Pizza sauce recipe from the Ooni site, adapted slightly
Ingredients:
- 2 T olive oil
- 2 thinly sliced garlic cloves
- 1 box Pomi crushed tomatoes (approx 750 g)
- 1 t salt
- 1 t sugar
- handful fresh basil, torn
Instructions:
- Heat oil over medium heat in a medium pot and add garlic. Let sizzle about 60 seconds until just beginning to turn golden. Add tomatoes, salt, sugar and basil. I add a bit of water, too, just rinse the tomato box out.
- Simmer covered 20 min. Remove lid and simmer another 10 min to thicken.
- Makes enough for several pizzas, maybe 6-8? I usually freeze half for later.
